Gill Zulu was born in London in 1965 . She graduated from The Surrey Institute of Art & Design in 1988 (UK) . She worked as an artist in Residence at a School in Yateley, Surrey UK from 1988– 1991. She was as a lecturer in Art & Design at Alton College Hants. UK from 1992-1998. She came to Livingstone in 2000 and has been her painting and producing one off textile pieces whilst continuing to teach. She established Highlands Creative Academy pre and Primary school in 2009 and in 2018 this became a dedicated arts centre. Gill has been participating in exhibitions since 1998 in the UK and in Zambia including WIVA 2003 at the Sun Hotel , Livingstone, “ Women under the sun” (2014) at the Choma Museum. She is currently Interim Chair of the VAC Southern and Projects development Manager at the National Gallery, Livingstone.
